Smoky Southwest Seasoning
Makes About 1/4 cup
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper, or to taste
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a small bowl and stir until evenly combined.
- Transfer to an airtight spice jar or container.
- Use approximately 1 tablespoon of seasoning per pound of meat, adjusting to taste.
- For a dry rub, coat the meat evenly with the seasoning and let it rest for 15 to 30 minutes before grilling, baking, or roasting.
Notes & Tips
- Adjust the amount of cayenne pepper to your preferred level of heat.
- This seasoning can also be used as a dry rub for grilling or roasting meats.
