Blackstone Garlic Green Beans

Blackstone Garlic Green Beans

Serves 4 servings

Prep: 15 minutes • Cook: 10 minutes

Fresh green beans seared until lightly blistered, then finished with garlic, butter, and bright lemon. This quick Blackstone side delivers plenty of flavor while keeping things light, colorful, and packed with fiber and nutrients.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese, optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Blackstone griddle to medium-high heat, about 375°F to 400°F. Wash the green beans and pat them completely dry.
  2. Toss the green beans with olive oil, salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika, then spread them across the hot griddle in a single layer.
  3. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes, tossing occasionally, until lightly blistered. Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of water beside the beans, cover with a melting dome, and steam for about 2 minutes.
  4. Remove the dome and let any remaining water cook off. Add the butter and minced garlic and toss for another 1 to 2 minutes, until the garlic is fragrant and the beans are crisp-tender.
  5. Remove from the heat, drizzle with fresh lemon juice, and finish with lemon zest and Parmesan cheese, if using.

Notes & Tips

  • The quick steam under a melting dome helps cook the centers while preserving the lightly blistered exterior.
  • Do not overcrowd the griddle; leaving space around the green beans helps them blister and brown instead of steaming.
  • Add the garlic near the end of cooking so it does not burn on the hot griddle.
  • For a little heat, add crushed red pepper flakes with the garlic. A large cast-iron skillet also works well instead of the Blackstone.
